Im April 2023 haben EIOPA (European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority) und EZB (Europäische Zentralbank) ein gemeinsames Diskussionspapier unter dem Titel „Policy options to reduce the climate insurance protection gap“ veröffentlicht, in dem es um mögliche Ansätze zur Schließung der Schutzlücke bei der Klimaversicherung handelt. Darin lassen sich Anknüpfpunkte für die aktuarielle Arbeit erkennen.
